DESCRIPTION:Warren Astronomical Society\n\nWolcott Mill Metropark is hostin
 g a special International Year of Astronomy event\, part of the Hundred Hou
 rs of Astronomy project\, focused on our local star and also on Galileo Gal
 ilei\, the man whose first telescope observations the IYA2009 commemorates.
    The event will run from 1-5 PM.\n\nWAS members with solar telescopes wil
 l be on hand to safely show the Sun in normal telescopes with white light s
 olar filters and in special Hydrogen Alpha-filtered telescopes.  There will
  be posters and astronomy information\, some great videos (about the upcomi
 ng solar maximum and perhaps about the Japanese moon orbiter - with brand n
 ew HD video of the lunar surface!)\, and crafts and talks for kids. \n\nThe
  Society's resident Galileo expert\, Ken Bertin\, will be giving a presenta
 tion on Galileo's life and accomplishments in the historic grist mill build
 ing as well.  I will update with the time for that when we know it.\n\nSome
  of this program will be repeated during the open house that evening\, in t
 he educational center near Stargate.  If you haven't seen the sun with your
