The Warren Astronomical Society meets monthly on the third Thursday in room 209 of Building B at Macomb Community College's South Campus. We do a bit of club business early on, then have a major presentation usually put together by one of our members.

Stephen Uitti will be presenting on a topic of his choice. His current working title is "Alien Universe". This is from the idea that the Universe is often counter-intuitive. From General Relativity to Quantum Mechanics, the Universe is an alien place compared to where we live. If you're not confused when i'm done talking, you weren't paying attention.

General relativity isn't too bad when you start with the speed of light and then compare everything else back to it instead of comparing everything in the local universe to the speed of light. I'm very interested about the quantum mechanics though.

    •  Very interesting talk on how all three-dimensional matter is really a hologram. But but but I still want to know more! I really liked the traditional kickoff joke this time, Stephen. (Though I have heard it before.)
    •  very interesting ,but a lot of the info was over my head
    •  Great. Well, as the main presenter, i can only really say it went better than i expected.
